In the first seven months of the year 70% of property purchases in Malaga province were made by foreign buyers, according to recent Notary data. Between January and July a total of 4,978 property sales were registered in the province, a 16.9% increase compared with the same time last year.
The Spanish second home housing market has taken a major step towards increasing transparency for foreign property buyers in Spain. The Second-Home & Resort Industry Observatory (SHARIO) has signed an agreement with the Spanish land Registrars Association, with the aim to provide foreigners with relevant up-to-date information on the Spanish housing market.
Foreign buyers accounted for nearly 20% of all Spanish residential property purchases in 2015, with 20.5% buying property in Andalucia, according to new data published by the Spanish Notary. There were 383,987 property sales to non-Spanish buyers last year, a growth of 12.9%, year-on-year, to represent an additional 76,780 transactions.
