The number of properties bought in Spain through the means of a mortgage loan grow as banks relax lending terms. In July, the proportion of properties purchased with a mortgage reached 48% – the highest level seen since early 2011, according to the Spanish notaries.

The number of property valuations carried out across Spain grew by over 10% in the first 6 month of the year. Between January and June, a total of 223,700 property valuations were carried out by members of the Spanish Value Analysis Association (AEV), new figures show.

CBRE Global Investment Partners and Madison International Realty are buying a 6,458 unit portfolio of Spanish residential properties valued at €870 million. The portfolio, consisting of 65 apartment blocks – 70% of which are located in and around Madrid – will be managed by Spanish asset manager Azora.
